The history of Bocce, which has its roots in Anatolian lands and is considered one of the oldest sports branches in the world, dates back to before Christ.
This different game was first played by the Romans in its present form and the name "Bocce" was taken from the Romans.
Considering that there were Turks in Anatolia at that time and that it is played under many similar names in various regions of Turkey today, it is possible to say that Bocce is one of the ancestral sports of the Turks.
Bocce sport consists of four different game systems. These are; Raffa, Volo, Petanque and Grass Ball. Competitions are held between single, double and triple teams. One-person Bocce games are played with 4 balls and 2-person Bocce games are played with 2 balls. The aim of the game is to ensure that the balls thrown and rolled are close to the target ball (pallino). For each ball thrown closer to the target ball than the opponent's balls, one point is earned and the player who scores 15 points leaves the match victorious.
