Ethnosport is a general definition of sports activities that incorporate many elements specific to local identities where in traditional culture is being preserved at a time when today’s sports games have become increasingly industrialized and institutionalized and success is the one and only indicator.

Traditional sports and games have become newsworthy and are being kept alive all over the world; the increase in their awareness will undoubtedly remind humanity of the fundamental values inherent in their own nature. Within the framework of universal values, traditional sports and games aim to contribute to humanity around the four principles it possesses: tradition, respect, solidarity, and peace.

Sports and Entertainment for a Peaceful World (Peace): Peace means to provide the foundation for the inter-societal affiliation, cohesion, and desire to live together that will lead to preferring solutions for the problems in conventional sports and games based not on power and aggression but on reason and good relationships.

Cooperation for the Common Benefit of Humanity (Solidarity): Solidarity signifies acting with an understanding that believes strength rises from unity, prioritizes public benefit instead of increasingly individualizing and being driven by profit maximization; it believes traditional sports and games are the cement for forming strong social ties.

Respect for Differences and Values (Respect): Respect refers to acting with an understanding based on respect for individuals, clubs, cultures, and humanity that develops and provides roots for this instead of the psychology and behaviors that harm sports’ and games’ purpose and morality, such as fanaticism and being hooligans.

Passing on the Accumulations of Humanity from Traditions to the Future (Tradition): Tradition expresses making contributions more strongly for maintaining the bond between past and future by conveying societies’ cultural wealth to future generations through traditional sports and games.
