WEC PhD Scholarships

The World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) offers PhD scholarships to students from all over the world. The program is open to students who are currently writing their doctorate thesis in the field of traditional sports and games.

WEC PhD Scholarships is a World Ethnosport Confederation-funded scholarship program awarded to outstanding PhD students from all around the world. WEC PhD Scholarships aim to support PhD students currently conducting their doctoral studies in the field of traditional sports and games.

The scholarship program is a study grant that only provides stipends for qualified students in the country where they presently study.

The scholarship program is only open to those students who have already passed the PhD Qualifying Exam and begun working on their thesis.

WEC PhD Scholarships program is also available for Türkiye Scholarship students who are currently continuing their PhD at a university in Türkiye.

How to Apply

Candidates may only apply individually through the www.worldethnosport.org website.

Candidates are strongly advised to carefully read the instructions and cautions in the application system.

Applicants are required to submit and upload the necessary documents to the application system.

Applications delivered by post, courier, or in person will not be accepted.

A recent photo of the candidate
Curriculum Vitae / CV
Letter of intent
Reference letters
Bachelor’s degree diploma
Bachelor’s degree transcript
Master’s degree diploma
Master’s degree transcript
Current PhD transcript
PhD Qualifying Exam results document

Applicants are required to upload and submit the necessary documents only in English to the application system. Certified translations are not required for the application process. If candidates are admitted to the program, the certified translations will be needed and translation costs will be covered by WEC. Please be aware that our system has global checks regarding plagiarism.
