Launched by the World Ethnosport Union to bring traditional sports and games to wider audiences, Etnotır continues to tour Turkey in the 2026 season through the Turkey Culture Route Festivals and various events. Starting in Isparta on March 26, the tour takes part in 28 events across 23 cities within the scope of an eight-month program, contributing to keeping traditional sports and games alive in different cities and across generations.
28 Events in 23 Cities
Carrying traditional sports and games to city centers, university campuses, and various event areas through a mobile setup, Etnotır meets with visitors with a comprehensive program in the 2026 season. Taking part in Turkey Culture Route Festivals, university events, local festivals, and national sports organizations, the program provides an opportunity for different age groups to get acquainted with traditional sports and games.
Following the festival route stretching from Aydın to Eskişehir, Samsun to Konya, Malatya to Kayseri throughout the season, Etnotır was also set up on university campuses in Isparta, Burdur, Antalya, Denizli, and Ankara. The campus programs, carried out with the contributions of student volunteers, enabled young people to meet directly with traditional sports and games.
Traditional Sports Meet with Cities
In addition to the Turkey Culture Route Festivals, Etnotır welcomes its visitors at local festivals and cultural events. Taking part in various organizations ranging from the Nowruz celebrations in Niğde to the Bursa Osmangazi April 23 Festival, and from the Kütahya Germiyan Festival to the Nevşehir Göreme Horse Festival, the program contributes to the reach of traditional sports and games to wider audiences.
Etnotır also took part in the Turkish Wrestling Federation Minors Turkey Championship held in Ankara between July 18–24. Bringing athletes, their families, and companions together with traditional sports, the program contributed to the promotion of traditional sports culture through various organizations.
The Season Will Conclude in Adana
Within the scope of the 2026 season planned with a total of 139 event days, Etnotır will meet with visitors at its final stops in İzmir and Adana. Set up at the İzmir Culture Route Festival between October 24 and November 1, and at the Adana Culture Route Festival between November 7 and 15, Etnotır will conclude the season on November 15.
While the World Ethnosport Union continues its efforts to keep traditional sports and games alive, propagate them, and transfer them to future generations, Etnotır continues in this direction to bring traditional culture together with visitors in different cities of Turkey.
