Born on December 26, 1972, in Dudesti, Braila, Romania, Nicolae Dobre is a seasoned professional in both sports administration and law enforcement. A graduate of the "Al.I. Cuza" Police Academy in Bucharest, he later pursued postgraduate studies in management, building a solid foundation for his leadership roles.
With over two decades of experience in human resources, he has served in key governmental positions, including his current role as Chief of the Human Resources Service within the Coast Guard since 2013. Previously, he was an officer in the Constanta County Border Police and the Constanta Border Brigade.
Dobre's passion for preserving and promoting traditional sports has made him a prominent figure in the field. Since 2007, he has been the President of the Romanian Oina Federation and has played an instrumental role in the European traditional sports movement. He serves as the Vice President of the European Association of Traditional Sports and Games and leads the Romanian Association of Traditional Sports and Games. Additionally, he has been at the forefront of Erasmus+ projects aimed at strengthening traditional sports across Europe.
