The Ancestors’ Day (Ősök Napja) took place in Bugac, Hungary, on 8–10 August 2025, bringing together more than 100,000 visitors. Organized by the Hungarian Traditional Sports Association, a member of the World Ethnosport Union, the event featured equestrian races, belt wrestling, archery, swordplay, handicraft exhibitions, cultural performances, and commemorations of prominent figures in Hungarian history. The program offered participants a rich blend of traditional sports and cultural heritage.
Representing the World Ethnosport Union, Board Member Ekrem Enes Duman attended the event. Ancestors’ Day once again highlighted the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage and transmitting traditional sports to future generations. With the active involvement of its member federations, the World Ethnosport Union continues to contribute to the revival of traditional sports across different regions of the world.
