Held continuously since 1953, the Yabusame events, part of the Meiji Jingu Shrine Great Autumn Festival, were held in Tokyo between November 1-3. Over three thousand visitors from all over the world attended the Yabusame events, which are based on the ritual of archers wearing samurai costumes shooting arrows at targets on a running horse. Organized by our corporate member Japan Equestrian Archery Association, the event was attended by Rabia Kazak, Board Member on behalf of the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC), as well as 40 diplomats. In the festival dedicated to the birthday of Emperor Meji at Meiji Jingu Shrine, besides Yabusame, activities such as Noh and Kyogen (classical Japanese theater), Hogaku and Hobu (classical Japanese dance) were also performed.
