Abdülhadi Turus Elected as President of the Traditional Sport Branches Federation of Turkey

Abdulhadi Turus, a Board Member of the World Ethnosport Confederation, was elected as the new President of the Traditional Sport Branches Federation of Turkey during the 6th Ordinary and Financial General Assembly.

In the general assembly held in Ankara, Turus received 92 valid votes, securing the presidency. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of preserving and passing on traditional sports to future generations, and expressed his gratitude to former president Hakan Kazanci. He stated, "We will work together to raise young people who play their traditional games in their streets and have ideals for the future."

Turus also thanked the President of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan, for his contributions to the development of traditional sports, saying, "I would like to thank him once again for his dedication and the mission he has instilled in us."

He announced plans to organize events in all 81 provinces of Turkey to promote traditional games, including mangala, eir game, tug-of-war, and mas wrestling. Turus declared 2025 as the "Year of Traditional Games Promotion" and pledged to expand these cultural activities to reach wider audiences.
