Held continuously since 1953, the Yabusame events, which are part of the Meiji Jingu Shrine Great Autumn Festival, were held in Tokyo on 3 November. This traditional ritual, in which archers wearing samurai costumes hit targets on horseback, attracted great attention. The event welcomed more than three thousand visitors from all over the world.
In this important event organised by our corporate member, the Japan Equestrian Archery Association, traditional Japanese arts such as Noh and Kyogen (classical Japanese theatre), Hogaku and Hobu (classical Japanese dance) were exhibited in addition to Yabusame in this festival dedicated to the birthday of Emperor Meji at the Meiji Jingu Shrine.
