On the eve of the V World Nomadic Games on 23-26 July this year, the Kazakhstan Kokpar Federation held a training of prospective referees in the Kokpar sports discipline in the city of Shymkent.
Murat Kipshakbaev, Deputy Director of the V World Nomad Games, made an illustrated presentation of the upcoming ethnosport main festival. Stadiums for national and traditional equestrian sports and folk games are being built in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Athletes from 121 countries from every continent of the world will take part in the main ethnosport forum. And, of course, one of the main sports will be: kokpar, horse wrestling, archery, galloping and other martial arts.
Under the leadership of the Kazakh patriarch of ethnosports Gani Akhmetbaev, qualified experts from the Kyrgyz Republic - Ramis Khudabergenov, Uzbekistan - Sherali Bekkulov, Kazakhstan shared their experience of refereeing and explained certain provisions of the Rules of the Games. The training was attended by representatives of the national federations of Central Asian states, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Georgia, Hungary, Pakistan, Russia, Turkey, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. One of the main objectives of the training: Correct and fair judgement, preventing injuries to riders and caring for animals. Practical lessons were held at the hippodrome, and as a result, the candidate judges successfully passed the exams and received Certificates for the right to judge at the upcoming World Nomad Games Astana ~ 2024.
World ethnosport leaders and relevant sports structures of Kazakhstan, including the organisers of the World Nomad Games, with their signatures confirmed the right of referees to officiate at the upcoming Nomad Games. The participants of the international training were addressed.
On behalf of Ethnosport President Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan, World Ethnosport Secretary General Muhammed Abduhalim Aksu greeted the participants of the training and wished them productive work.
Erkin Abzalov, the first vice-president of the World Kokpar Association, and Ayaz Zhilkibaev, the general director of the Kazakhstan Kokpar Federation, attended the training and made presentations.
All the presidents of the national federations of the member countries of the Kokpar World Association confirmed the participation of the national teams in the upcoming grandiose ethnosport festival Astana-2024.
