The Traditional Sports Practices and Research Center has been established in Turkey with the aim of preserving traditional sports and games by keeping them alive.
The Center, established at Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University located in Turkey’s capital of Ankara, will maintain its studies by addressing all the processes of traditional sports and games, from their compilation to their application.
The Center, which will conduct studies in academic fields such as education, compilation, and research, will also implement practices to ensure traditional sports and games will be conveyed from generation to generation. The Center, which will also meet the need for the knowledge, equipment, and expertise needed for all relevant public institutions, organizations, and NGOs in Turkey, will also work in coordination with the World Ethnosport Confederation in regard to its efforts in the international arena. The activity areas of the Center will extend to all geographies where traditional sports and games exist.
The Traditional Sports Practices and Research Center aims to research, compile, analyze, and revitalize traditional sports and games through all these studies it will conduct.
