The Ethnosport Summit Will Be Held in Khiva on September 8, 2023
Maintaining its efforts to reputation and raise awareness of traditional sports and games, the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) is organizing the Ethnosport Summit under the motto of “Bound by Heritage, United by Ethnosports”. Participants from all over the world will participate in the Summit, which will take place on September 8, 2023, in Khiva, Uzbekistan.
The World Ethnosport Confederation has carried out its nonstop efforts to keep traditional sports and games up to date and valued all over the world and to raise awareness of them. As a result of organizations having been realized around the unifying strength of traditional sports and games that share humanity’s common values, many cultures that were left in the dusty pages of history have been revived through Ethnosport activities.
Aiming to make a contribution to humanity around four principles regarding universal values such as tradition, respect, solidarity, and peace, the World Ethnosport Confederation will hold the Summit, where participants from all over the world will be included. The Summit will determine strategies aimed at reviving traditional sports and games by laying the short, medium, and long-term objectives of traditional sports and games on the table.
The participants of the Ethnosport Summit in Khiva will include governmental officials, federation representatives, and academics from over 60 countries, along with 24 institutional representatives currently maintaining their activities under WEC. The Summit will be one of the world’s most significant events with traditional sports and games, and participation diversity.
