Message of Solidarity from the Ethnosport Summit in Uzbekistan

The International Ethnosport Festival and Ethnosport Summit was held in Khiva, Uzbekistan and hosted state representatives and sports people from 35 countries. Speaking at the Summit, World Ethnosport Confederation President Necmedin Bilal Erdoğan thanked the participating countries for their solidarity.

Maintaining its efforts at reviving traditional sports and games, the World Ethnosport Confederation organized the Ethnosport Summit in the historical city of Khiva in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan Ethnosport Association. Representatives from the sports of archery and wrestling came together in exclusive sessions at the summit. The development of traditional sports and games was discussed at the international academics meeting.

Participation Was Provided at the Ministerial Level

The summit continued with protocol talks, the ministerial panel, and the signing of the goodwill agreement. Speaking first at the summit, Adil Abdurahmanov as the Uzbekistan Presidential Administration Official Responsible for Social Issues thanked World Ethnosport Confederation President Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan for his contributions to the International Ethnosport Festival and the Ethnosport Summit. Uzbekistan’s Minister of Youth Policy and Sports Adkham Ikramov stated in his speech how they want to make every effort to popularize traditional sports and games among youths.

We Pursue the Values That Connect Us to One Other

Addressing the participants at the summit, World Ethnosport Confederation President Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan stressed common values, stating, “There are many values, cultures, and beauties that connect us to one another. We organize festivals, forums, and events annually to discover and reveal these. We experience happiness to see every color and culture of the world together at the events we hold.”

Ministers Gathered at a Panel

Moderated by WEC President Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, the panel discussed the future of traditional sports and saw the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Türkiye İbrahim Yumaklı, the Minister of Youth Policies and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov, the Deputy Minister of Sports and Culture of Kazakhstan Kuranbek Sarsen, and the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Malaysia Adam Adli bin Abd Halim meet with the participants.

The Goodwill Agreement Has Been Signed

The goodwill agreement was signed for the development and popularization of traditional sports within the scope of the summit with the involvement of WEC President Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Sports Policy and Youth Adkham Ikramov, the Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov, Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Enes Eminoğlu, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Sports and Culture Kuranbek Sarsen, and Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism Aleh Anderichyk.

Splendid Opening for the International Ethnosport Festival

The opening ceremony of the International Ethnosport Festival took place in Khiva following the Ethnosport Summit. The cultural wealth of Uzbekistan was on stage at the event. Nearly 2,000 athletes performed various competitions and shows within the scope of the festival between September 8-10.
