Being active in keeping traditional sports and games alive and increasing their awareness around the world, benefitting from academic resources in their work, and being aware of the importance of developing these resources, WEC continues to support academic studies in this field.
In this context, the Executive Board of Traditional Sports and Games Research has been established within the World Ethnosport Confederation for the purposes of researching, examining, evaluating, and compiling traditional sports and games within an academic framework. The board, which will bring the data that emerges as a result of the research that will be performed into a state suitable for digital forms, consists of 14 academicians from nine different countries who are competent in their field. The Executive Board of Traditional Sports and Games Research will crown the studies it does with a broad and comprehensive Traditional Sports Encyclopedia.
