Award Excitement in Oil Wrestling League

The 2023 award ceremony of the CW Energy Turkey Oil Wrestling League, organised by the Turkish Traditional Wrestling Federation (TGGF), a corporate member of the World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC), was held on 06.12.2023 with the participation of WEC President Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan. It was held with the participation of Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan.

In the event held at Eresin Topkapı Hotel, TGGF President İbrahim Türkiş, as well as CW Energy Chairman Tarık Sarvan and the mayors of the provinces and districts in the league took part.

Drawing attention to the point reached by traditional sports and games at the award ceremony, WEC President Mr. "We have seen the importance of strengthening institutional structures in these activities. When we analysed Turkey, our traditional sports could be categorised under 3 titles. Wrestling, horse riding and shooting. From that day on, we defended the following. We said that if we gather each of them in a traditional federation, we would witness the rapid acceleration of traditional archery, javelin and oil wrestling. We explained this to our ministers and our President supported us. At the point we have reached today, our 4 federations serve all traditional sports and we see the acceleration in the branches in question."

Emphasising that the traditional wrestling league is an essential organisation, TGGF President İbrahim Türkiş said, "We have the honour of doing this task for our oil wrestling, which is important for us. For 1.5 years, we have struggled day and night for oil wrestling to reach better points. We took into account the wishes of wrestling lovers. We evaluated with many people and finally we saw that the creation of this league has become an indispensable necessity."

After the speeches, trophies and plaques were presented. Orhan Okulu, the champion of this season, received the golden belt award from Mr. Necmeddin Bilal Erdoğan, President of WEC. He received the golden belt award from the hand of Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan.
